Soundbytes: What is a creative piece?

So, what the heck is a creative piece, you ask? If you just started a business, you probably had a business card made. That qualifies as a creative piece. So does your letterhead, your website, your newspaper ad, and that TV ad you’ll buy eventually. Each product photo in your online or print catalog is a creative piece. Each tweet, Facebook and Instagram post also qualifies as a creative piece. So does a press release, a blog post, a magazine article, or a white paper.

We work with other public relations firms because many PR firms lean toward the planning and strategic side of the business. Your publicist may rock at campaign design but lack zingy copywriting skills. She may strategize stellarly and land you bookings on talk shows galore, but lack the focus to focus on a great camera shot. Or he or she may not live near individuals with those talents. We help each other. Whether it’s a large firm or a solo publicist, Powell Lawson Creatives works with them – or you directly – to craft the perfect pieces for your press packet. These partnerships deliver zesty words, sexy headshots, and sing-a-long jingles.

  1. I wanted to draft you a tiny note to be able to give thanks over again for your personal spectacular secrets you’ve contributed in this case. It’s simply surprisingly open-handed of people like you giving unreservedly all that most of us would have offered for sale in an electronic book to help with making some profit for their own end, specifically seeing that you might well have done it in case you wanted. These points in addition worked like a easy way to realize that other people have the same keenness the same as mine to see significantly more with respect to this matter. Certainly there are a lot more fun times up front for individuals that browse through your site.

    1. Hi Sherice,
Thank you for the suggestion the I write an e-book. I have thought about it, but I find myself busy on books for my publisher, which focuses on young adult writing. Also, I am blessed and grateful to write everyday for content clients. I would like to write a marketing and advertising book, but I also would want to have the time to ensure it offered information that could provide instantly usable value to the reader and at an affordable price point. I made this site free of cost, so that I could share how to information, especially with solopreneurs and startups. I rarely have time to chat with people, but by writing this site, I hope to provide helpful articles that entrepreneurs can use at their leisure to accomodate both sides’ schedules. Thank you again for your comment.

      All the best,
      Carlie Lawson

  3. I’ve been browsing online greater than 3 hours today, but I by no means found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made good content material as you did, the net will likely be a lot more useful than ever before.

  4. Please let me know if you’re looking for a author for your weblog. You have some really great posts and I think I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d love to write some content for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please send me an email if interested. Regards!

    1. Hi Claud,

Thank you for your comment. I do contract with other writers for some blogs. I provided the links to the writing agencies and contract work sites that I use in this comment. If you want to register with any of them, they all accept rolling applications for writers.

      Carlie Lawson

  5. My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post’s to be precisely what I’m looking for. Would you offer guest writers to write content in your case? I wouldn’t mind creating a post or elaborating on many of the subjects you write with regards to here. Again, awesome site!

    1. Hi,

Thank you for visiting Powell Lawson Enterprises. I write most of the blogs myself, but I did recently start contracting some blog creation to Verblio.com and Writer Access. (Please, check out Tammy Jeannice’s new blogs here.) I use Upwork.com and Freelancer.com for hiring web developers and consultants when I need collaborators on larger projects, such as researching and writing business plans and marketing plans. If you ever need short-form, bulk content, I recommend Textbroker.

      All the best,
      Carlie Lawson

  7. Hello! Quick question that’s entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when viewing from my Apple iphone. I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct this issue. If you have any suggestions, please share. Cheers!

    1. Hi,
Thank you for your comment. If you use WordPress or Blogger for hosting, look for a theme marked “mobile friendly” or “responsive.” Those two terms mean that the theme will automatically adapt itself depending on the browser type that the visitor to your site uses. It will re-size for their screen. The menus typically use a different format on mobile devices than on a computer.
      All the best,
      Carlie Lawson

  8. Do you mind if I quote a few of your articles as long as I provide credit and sources back to your blog?
